Arthur Bromley Holmes was first City Electrical Engineer after a parliamentary sanction was obtained to an agreement of Liverpool City Council to purchase the Undertaking from Liverpool Electric Supply Company Limited on 1st July 1896.
Messrs. Holmes and Vaudrey had commenced this business in January 1882 and under terms of the agreement most of the Company’s staff were taken into the Corporation Undertaking.
